Abstract:
Graduate Records Examination grew out of the project for the CFAT in the early 1930s to study the outcomes of college education. Carnegie Corporation of New York played a key role in funding the study, and then helping to accommodate the test to new realities after World War II, when a much larger student body began to pursue graduate degrees.
