Abstract
In 1923 the Endowment purchased a building in Paris to house the Centre Européen. The new building at 173 Boulevard Saint-Germain, an 18th century hotel, contained the Centre's administration offices, lecture rooms, library, and a movie theater. The Centre also rented its rooms for lectures, and let office space to other organizations and individuals. A separate reading room (Salle de Lecture) for current newspapers and other periodicals opened in 1926.
