- This speech marked Andrew Carnegie's donation of the Hague Peace Palace, later a home of the Academy of International Law at the Hague. The academy was incorporated in 1914 by Carnegie Endowment of International Peace, and funded by the Endowment with the Carnegie Corporation's support, until 1939.
