- Abstract: This medal and logo was designed for Carnegie Corporation of New York by a prominent American sculptor Paul Howard Manship (1885-1966) Pegasus, the winged mythological horse, is the central figure surrounded by the motto: "Carnegie Corporation for t he Advancement and Diffusion of Knowledge and Understanding."

- Abstract: The Lotos Club, one of the oldest literary clubs in the United States, was founded on March 15, 1870, by a group of young writers, journalists and critics. In 1909 with financial backing from Andrew Carnegie the Club moved from Fifth Avenue at 21st Street to its new building at 110 West 57th Street, where it remained until entering its present home at 5 East 66th Street in 1947.
