To the Editor of the New York Times: The undersigned, members of the National Highways Protective Society, ask support and contributions for its work.... ...The society needs influence and contributions to promote s: Safe streets and highways. Enforcement and judicious amendment of speed laws. Saving children from dangers of street play by opening and equipping new playgrounds on vacant city property. Suppression of 'joy riding,' smoke nuisance, and other criminal, unauthorized, dangerous, or obnoxious use of motors, motorcycles, and other vehicles. Better methods and practice in street paving, repairing, and cleaning. Good roads, and honesty, economy, and efficiency in their making and maintenance. Sane automobile and highway legislation. Reciprocity laws between States, whereby a single, adequate, and uniform motor license may safely be recognized in all the States. Checks may be sent to Bradley Martin, Jr., Treasurer, Nineteenth Ward Bank, or to the National Highways Protective Society, 46 East Twenty-ninth Street, where pamphlets may be obtained. F.
