Abstract
The Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Affairs (formerly the Church Peace Union and later known for a while the Council on Religion in International Affairs) was founded by Andrew Carnegie in 1914. Initially, it searched for ways to influence government action, but eventually adopted an educational mission, providing a forum for public debate, issuing publications, conducting public affa irs programs, and performing studies.
