- The New York State Teachers' Association with a membership of over 6,000 will hold its next meeting in Albany on November 23, 24 and 25. The section on Health Direction and Physical Education will hold a joint session in the forenoon of Tuesday the 24 th, and the section on Health Direction is to meet separately in the afternoon. Among the speakers will be Dr. Thomas Wood, Columbia University, Dr. W.S. Cornell, Director of Medical Inspection, Philadelphia, Pa., Dr, Geo. Goler, Health Officer of Rochester, N.Y., Dr. Thomas Finegan, Assistant Commissioner of Elementary Education for New York State, Prof L.W. Rapeer, Department of Education, University of Pittsburg, Dr. Joseph C. Palmer, Chief Medical Inspector, Syracuse, N.Y., Dr. Clinton P. McCord ,Health Director, Albany, N.Y. and Dr. F.M. Meader, Dr. H.L.K. Shaw and Prof C.-E.A. Winslow of the State Department of Health. The subjects to be discussed include the making of sanitary surveys in schools, the relation of health officers to medical inspection, health losses and the public schools, communicable diseases and the public schools, medical inspection and the medical profession, and various other problems that have come up in this field of work in New York State. Every Health Ofiicer who is engaged in school medical inspection should attend these meetings, as such a gathering of men who are dealing directly with practical phases of the subject will offer an excellent opportunity for discussion of the present status of the work in this State."
