- This print pairs two popular kabuki actors, Matsumoto Kōshirō V and Sukedakaya Takasuke II, in roles they performed for a joruri play at the Ichimura theater in Edo in 1804. The bold patterns of the costumes, the wide gestures, and the clearly defined facial expressions contribute to the monumental quality of the image.
