Note (Biographical)
Lobsang Yeshi was a monk at Ganden (Tib. Dga' ldan, also Gandan) Monastery when the fighting in Lhasa began in March 1959. He told me some stories about events leading to the uprising in March 10. He was in Jokhang during the last Monlam Festival in 1 959, and described the situation at that time.
