Ethel Williams was a former teacher who ran an outreach program focused on providing social services for Paterson, New Jersey's poorest residents. She also helped develop Paterson Public Schools' SAGE (Special Aid to Girls Expecting) program, which of fered special education and counseling for teenage mothers
