- Annotation on the back by H. Fader: On road side outside HCH. Mid 1960s. Doris Shetlon (center woman with hat), the daughter of the famous murdered missionary along the Sino-Tibetan border. Dr and Mrs. A.L.Shelton, visited Gegen Tharchin and helped hi m print and publish in Tibetan a story book. Copies were presented to Kalimpong's Central School for Tibetan students. Shown are M.Tharchin, Amal and Gegen Tharchin, Ruth, Peter Rapgey and his small daughter, and Amala's mom Sarah. Photo taken before Gegen Tharchin and Margaret Vitants Tharchin admitted to Plantation hospital, Darjeeling. Sherab Gyamtsho Tharchin took the photo.
