- Note
- Photograph was taken by official Chinese photographers for police records and have been smuggled out of the country by underground groups in Tibet. The Aftermath of the Protest, Set 3, Photo 4 Annotation on back: Plain clothes policeman shows a Tibeta n National Flag taken from demonstration to mark International Human Rights Day and The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Possession of the flag is a potentially capital offence under Chinese law. The monk who had been carrying this flag was shot dead at point blank range, by a police team appearing to be an execution group, shortly before the photo was taken.
