Abstract
In the first session, Francesca Fanelli discusses her background in Art History and how she made her way to career development. She describes her current coursework in Counseling Psychology at Teachers College and how that has informed her work with students. She also discusses the loss of family during the pandemic, feelings of safety while running in the city, and shares some observations of how race and class have organized how people are experiencing the pandemic in New York City. In the second session, Fanelli discusses the disruptions of the fireworks during the summer in Harlem, their links with the protests, her thoughts on leaving New York City, and the tricky negotiations of visiting family and being safe. She additionally shares about her experience providing emotional support to her spouse, her views on the vaccine, and her memories of the 2020 election results
