Note (Biographical)
Kathleen Amundsen was a nurse in The Bronx in New York City. Amundsen began her nursing career in the medical surgery floor Montefiore Hospital in 1982. After a year and a half of working in surgery, she transferred to the cardiac care unit. Amundsen worked as a cardiac care nurse throughout both the AIDS crisis and COVID-19 pandemic. She reached retirement age during the pandemic
