Abstract
In the first session, Amy Starecheski describes the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on her life, work as a professor, and family. She provides her thoughts on politics describes conditions in the neighborhood of Mott Haven in the Bronx. She discusses her efforts with neighbors to buy their building to convert to a coop and describes the genesis of the oral history project on COVID. In the second s ession, Starecheski expands on the impact of COVID on her life, her involvement in the Black Lives Matter movement, and what her new routines have looked like. In the third session, Starecheski analyzes what she has lost and gained through the pandemic. She reflects on how her daughter, family and community have had to cope with the changes and the feeling of uncertainty. She also discusses, politics, vaccines, and teaching

Amy Starecheski was born in 1977 in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She is the director of the Oral History MA Program at Columbia University and has a PhD in Cultural Anthropology. Starecheski currently lives in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the Bronx and was a co-investigator on the New York City COVID-19 Narrative and Memory project
