- The overseas program of the Corporation was greatly expanded after Frederick Keppel and James Bertram undertook a trip to Africa in 1927. The travel reports, such as this Keppel's 1935 Report on Australia, New Zealand and Southern Africa shown here, not only set forth priorities for the Corporation's grant making but also provided valuable information on the social conditions and the state of educ ation in the region.
