Abstract
Lawrence Garbuz is an attorney in New Rochelle, a town near New York City. He was the first patient officially diagnosed with COVID-19 in the New York metro area, and spent weeks in a medically-induced coma while undergoing treatment. He describes this experience, and the intense media attention and representation of him as New York's "patient zero" in his first session. His second session, conduct ed in September of 2020, covers the lingering physiological, psychological, and social effects of his infection. The audio for the second session was not included when the collection was donated to the archives, so this session is transcript-only.
