- Abstract
- Carnegie was a founder of the US Military Telegraph Corps of the Civil War. In 1907, upon request from David Homer Bates, the secretary of the Society of the United States Military Telegraph Corps, he established pensions for them; in a few years he extended pensions to their widows as well.
