Amanda Phingbodhipakkiya was born in 1988 in Atlanta, Georgia, the child of Thai and Indonesian immigrants. Phingbodhipakkiya obtained a degree in neuroscience from Columbia University, but ultimately she pivoted to art. She has won numerous awards fo r her art, and her installations have been shown at the Cooper Union, Times Square, and Lincoln Center. She has been artist-in-residence with the NYC Commission on Human Rights, which led to the public art campaign "I Still Believe in Our City"
