In the interview, Arturo remembers his childhood and reflects on his father's abandonment. Then, he recalls his move to Havana and recounts anecdotes related to the racism he experienced as a Black man in the years before the Revolution. He considers that racism continues, but in a more underhanded way: he is in a relationship with a white woman, which led to a conflict with her children. Arturo di scusses his mother's religion, Santeria, and the growth of new religions on the island. He recalls his first sexual relations and discusses prostitution while reflecting on the changes in relationships between men and women

Arturo was born on August 19, 1922, in Sandino de Villa, Santa Clara, Cuba. His father abandoned him at birth. As a teenager, he moved to Rodas, where he began selling produce for a living. There he began to be interested in movies. He got a job at th e Rodas Cinema as a poster painter and as a projectionist. In 1944, he moved to Havana. Between 1949 and 1952, he lived in Mexico. Later, he returned to Havana and began working as a truck driver until 1970. Since then, he has worked in a theater. In his free time, he devoted himself to musical composition. He composed more than fourteen pieces. Arturo was interviewed for the project that led to the book How Things Fall Apart. The name is a pseudonym for the project
Arturo nació el 19 de agosto de 1922 en Sandino de Villa, Santa Clara, Cuba. Su padre lo abandonó al nacer. Cuando era adolescente, se mudó a Rodas, donde comenzó a vender productos para subsistir. Allí comenzó a interesarse en las películas. C onsiguió trabajo en el cine de Rodas como pintor de carteles y como proyeccionista. En 1944, se mudó a La Habana. Entre 1949 y 1952 residió en México. Luego, regresó a La Habana y comenzó a trabajar como conductor de camiones hasta 1970. Desde entonces, ha trabajado en un teatro. En su tiempo libre, se dedicó a la composición musical.
