It challenges the hegemonic narrative that portrays Shivaji as a ruler driven by religious bias, arguing instead for a more nuanced and historically grounded understanding of his legacy. The booklet also highlights Purandare’s role in misrepresenting key facts about Shivaji’s life, contributing to a casteist reinterpretation of his contributions and ideals.
