Abstract
In this image, the twenty-sixth of the "Famous Views of the Fifty-three Stations," Hiroshige depicts the Sayo mountain pass at Nissaka. The artist shows a long row of travelers. Most of them are climbing up the slope; two are descending toward the teahouse outside the village of Nissaka. Mt. Mugen can be seen in the distance.
