Carnegie Endowment of International Peace was also heavily involved in educational projects. One of the objectives of its Division of International Law was facilitating the study and improving the teaching of international law and related subjects; thus the Division was instrumental in founding and supporting an Academy of International Law. It also provided financial and administrative support fo r conferences of teachers of international law and sponsored a series of eight summer sessions on international law for teachers from smaller colleges. This is one of the earliest such sessions held at George Peabody College for Teachers (now part of Vanderbilt University).
