Abstract
Lorraine Frazier discusses her experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. She describes her youth in Northern Ireland and Malaysia and her experiences with Hurricane Harvey while in Houston. She discusses the early days of the pandemic and details the efforts to get nursing students to assist with the response. On this topic, she describes the logistics, challenges, care provided by students, and co urage of students. She speaks philosophically about nursing, describes masking in New York City, and shares her perceptions of initial reports from Wuhan, China
