Abstract
Luis Flores López discusses his childhood and the jobs he had as a youth. He describes some violent situations he experienced on the streets of Puerto Rico. He discusses how he received open heart surgery. He also discusses his relationship with his family and the death of one of his daughters. He mentions his passion for sports, especially baseball. Then, Flores López describes how he and his fa mily prepared for Hurricane María and his preoccupation with his father's health since he needed to undergo dialysis every day. He discusses the effects Hurricane María had on his house. He remembers being unprepared. He describes how his employer, a food company, could not make deliveries and how this impacted his pay. He also discusses his relationship with faith. In further discussion of the hurricane, Flores López describes the problems he faced with the electric system and the help he received from his neighbors. He mentions being preoccupied with the survival of his family and those who were ill or in need of sanitary attention. He discusses the lack of help received from the government. Luis Germán Flores López was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico, in 1970. When he was eight years old, traveled to New York to receive heart surgery. He studied Business Administration. He worked as a salesman for different food distribution companies, suc h as Gerber, Mendez & Co., and V. Suarez & Co. He and his wife had four children, one of whom passed away.
Luis Germán Flores López nació en Juncos, Puerto Rico, en 1970. A los ocho años tuvo que viajar a Nueva York para someterse a una operación a corazón abierto. Estudió Administración de Empresas. Trabajó como vendedor para distintas empresas d e distribución de alimentos, como Gerber, Mendez & Co. y V. Suarez & Co. Tuvo cuatro hijos con su mujer, uno de los cuales falleció.
