Abstract
Has received a letter from the Historical Society of Pennsylvania appointing him a committee to make inquiries on the subject of the authorship of Washington's Farewell Address. In a letter of 29 March 1811 to Judge Peters he related certain remarks and facts connected with that question. He therefore refers them to Peters with the request that any copies taken should be of the whole letter and not just parts of it.
