Honored with Washington's letters of May 11, 14, 16 and 17 and one by General McIntosh with papers referred to in them. Congress agrees with Washington that inquiry into the matter referred to in McIntosh's letter would be inexpedient now. Sends copies of three acts of Congress: 1., May 17, directing the commissioners of Indian affairs to follow Washington's instructions as to partial or general pe ace with Indians; 2, May 17, further provision for adjutant general; 3., May 18, permits General McIntosh to join the southern army.
