Burritt, General Director of The New York Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor since 1914, and William H. Matthews, Directory of the Department of Family Welfare since 1913, both of whom have just completed 25 years of service with the Association for Improving the Condition of the Poor, were honored today at a meeting of the Board of Managers of the New York A.I.C.P., at 105 East 22nd Street. The two men have directed the spending of more than $55,000,000 for aid to New York’s poor and their activities in the field of social welfare work have directly affected the lives of millions of persons in New York City. They are being presented with remembrance gifts. Left to rights: Cornelius N. Bliss, president of the Association from 1913-1934 acting for the board; Bailey B.
