- Abstract
- There are five petitioners, all former loyalists, who in some manner were concerned with the British forces, or the British civilian government of New York. Sued by neighbors according to the provisions of the Trespass act of New York, they bring their case to congress in the hope that some steps will be taken to release them from prison. They cite the provisions of the treaty that no further retri butions would be made after its execution.
