- Abstract
- Autograph letter signed. Since his last letter in October, Franklin has been laid up eight weeks with the gout. Did send the credit Jay request in his letter of October 25. Can send no more money because he already has so many demands n his resources. Has accepted Jay's bill for 19,770 livres and it should be considered part of the $25,000. The credit for 26,459 pounds being the balance to complete Jay's salaries for one year. Silas Deane is in Holland. Has sent Jay some that arrived from America. The English have another war on their hands with the Dutch.
