- Abstract
- Lafayette returned to France to press for a land and naval force from France to serve under General Washington. The result of this aid was the capture of Cornwallis. Now has the American commissioners' permission to return to America With Count d'Estaing. Since things do not seem ripe for a treaty, Lafayette thinks it is better for him to go to America.
