- Abstract
- Glad of Adams' success in his negotiation in Holland. Cautions Adams not to be too sanguine however. Jay's negotiation with Spain goes on in Paris. Wishes he could have a conference with Adams on the negotiation for peace. Oswald here. Questions Shelburne's sincerity in wanting to give America her independence. Good armies are the ablest negotiators.
