Abstract
Respecting the dispute of the six Nations with the Coghnawagas, the latter were given on request a copy of the last treaty of New York with the Mohawks. The government should avoid intermeddling in any dispute among the Indian Nations but public treaties and records should be open to them. They may apply to any agent for that purpose; John Jay does no t intend to search the records himself or employ a person for that business.
