Abstract
Agents have been appointed by the Legislature to deal with the Oneida Indians on the sale of part of their lands; their report has been confirmed by the Legislature. The proposed treaty should be held at Oneida so that all the chiefs may attend and that the expense may be less. The President is requested to appoint a commissioner to hold this treaty; when this is done, proper measures on the part o f the state will be taken.
