- Abstract
- Letter signed in hand of Robert H. Harrison. Acknowledges receipt of letters of August 20 and 24 with papers. Acts of Congress of August 16-18 have been communicated to Army. Washington and, so far as he has heard, the Army, are pleased. Is glad to hear Congress is considering are other such resolutions concerning grants, for the whole army must be treated equally, according to rank and situation. Sorry that Congress disagrees with him on officers going to Canada. Encloses letter on subject to Theodorick Bland, August 31, 1779, and extract from another to Bland of July 27. Jay may send these to Congress if he thinks proper. Also encloses a New York newspaper of August 28 containing details of Admiral Arbuthnot's arrival.
