Abstract
Letter signed in hand of Robert H. Harrison. Includes extract of letter of 5 May from General William Maxwell, reporting embarkation of 4000 enemy troops for the West Indies or Georgia and extract of letter of 5 May from Lieutant Colonel Ford telling of departure of about 40 enemy vessels from Shrewsbury for unknown destination. They may be found for the West Indies, but Washington fears their oper ations will be in the American South. Also encloses report on exchange of prisoners. In postscript, notes inclusion of an extract from a letter of 27 April from General Schuyler and of minutes reporting action against the Onondaga. According to another report, fleet which just sailed out of the Hook is larger than was formerly believed.
