Abstract
On the charge that Pollock was engaged in smuggling contraband goods into Havanna, Gardoqui said he had heard that he had been present when a vessel supposedly loaded with flour landed but it was discovered that in reality it was a cargo of something else. Pollock in his defense has sent two letters attesting to his character and good conduct.
