- Abstract
- Report to Congress on matters of Mr. (Stephen) Sayre on his: nation and character, political conduct and losses, employment by American commissioners, services to America when not employed by commissioners, and expense account and compensation rights. Sayre claims was banker and sheriff in London, supported American side, put in prison for it, lost property and bank failed. Went to Paris and then t o Berlin on behalf of American commissioners, then Copenhagen. Negotiated in Stockholm on belief would help. Believes Sayre entitled to reasonable compensation for services when actually employed and should send to Dr. Franklin and Mr. Arthur Lee to discover on what terms they hired him.
