- Abstract
- Letterbook copy. Report on consular convention with France: all the papers relative to the treaty and the objections to it should be sent to Jefferson in Paris. The papers and objections should also be sent to the King of France with suggestion that the convention be amended so as to make it conformable to the treaty plan and that it be limited to a duration of ten years. Jefferson should also be i nstructed to work a convention to regulate the consuls of the two nations. Suggests that he write a letter to Jefferson stating all these ideas.
