Is unable from personal experience to strongly recommend Mr. Sartori as Consul, but his having married an American should be counted in his favor. The President's speech and the Senate's answer have approbation of Americans. Unanimity is desirable, "Divisions within Doors tending to create and animate Divisions without." Wishes that certain proceedings during the present and last sessions of Congre ss might become widely known through pamphlets.
