- Has seen Mr. Adams, learned that no commission from Congress "but instructions to the ministers authorized to treat of peace at Versailles to enter into a treaty of commerce with Great Britain. Mr. Adams strongly repudiates the late military order enacted in America." Will endeavor to obtain paper containing regulations and send it to Bath. Wishes to be remembered to everyone in Bath, Mrs. Jay and Dr. Franklin.
