- Abstract
- Left a volume of his book on colors for Peter A. Jay. Asks Jay to carry a bulky letter to John Vaughan of Philadelphia. As the letter contains documents of some importance he hopes Jay will forward by the earliest safe conveyance from New York. Jay's reply, drafter on the last page of the letter, thanks Banscroft for his kind comments, acknowledges receipt of the letter for Vaughan.
