- Abstract
- Received letter from Jay and one from Morris. Cannot comprehend the evacuation of Ticonderoga. Hopes Burgoyne's success will precipitate him into measures which will prove his ruin. The continental army is moving toward Peekskill. Hopes the people will not panic; their leaders must provide "spirited and manly" example.
