Suspects the Governor will issue writs of election for a new assembly. He
feels the Tories may be elected because the attention of the people is diverted to the
Provincial and Continental Congresses. Suggests that the four delegates to the
Continental Congress (Livingston, Alsop, Lewis and Jay), stand for election to the
Assembly from the City and County of New York. This will insure their election for a
majority of the people are Whigs.
