- Abstract
- Text of letter written out for Peter by his aunt, Susan Livingston, but with a neatly printed signature which is presumably Peter's. Is learning his lessons well from his Aunt Susan. Aunt Catharine sends him books from Philadelphia. He has finished the Continental Primer. Encloses a resolution of Congress of 24 May 1781 (not present) relative to the petition of Dumaine and Lyon which, with the pape rs annexed to, Carmichael should copy in duplicate for Jay's use. His grandfather Livingston writes him frequently, and he spent a few days with him at cousin David Clarkson's near Princeton. "It was a long ride for such a little fellow as me." Enclosure in Susan Livingston's letter of this date (document 8299).
