Abstract
Asks John Jay and Madison to act on his behalf in attempting to get Congressional action on his claim for payment of expenses for his "Outfit" (clothing, household furnishings) in Paris. Hopes for Congressional consideration as soon as possible. Cites custom in other diplomatic services which would back up his claim for reimbursement. Will abide by John Jay's and Madison's judgment on matter.
