Samuel Johnson hopes that the extra help Augustus is getting in reading from a woman who runs a successful school will be beneficial. Encloses a catechism Augustus wishes to give to his brother and sister. Is glad that Peter Jay plans a visit in September. Johnson intends to visit New York before winter and depends on Peter Jay and other friends to inform him whether the city is safe from small pox.
