Abstract
Divisions begin to appear in New York, and many in Dutchess county are loyal to the King. Tenants on the Livingston lands are restless, some have joined the Tory counter-Association, and his father is attempting to quiet them by peaceful means. Urges Jay to return to New York to watch affairs there and also the expedition to Canada. A minister with Tory leanings is having considerable success makin g Tories out of the Dutch.
