- Abstract
- Divisions begin to appear in New York, and many in Dutchess county are loyal to the King. Tenants on the Livingston lands are restless, some have joined the Tory counter-Association, and his father is attempting to quiet them by peaceful means. Urges Jay to return to New York to watch affairs there and also the expedition to Canada. A minister with To ry leanings is having considerable success making Tories out of the Dutch.
