- Abstract
- Littlepage did not contact Jay in America after Thomas Adams recommended him because of poor health. After he heard that Jay had left but was willing to take care of him, he followed Jay in a ship bound for Bordeaux. Bad weather forced a landing in Nantes about the middle of February. For some time after his arrival he could find out nothing about Jay, and he believed that the confederacy was lost. Franklin has advised Littlepage to write to Jay and remain in France until Jay sent instructions. He will stay with Mr. Bonfield in Bordeaux until he hears from Jay.
