- Abstract
- Attend to securing Egg Harbor, and fix limits on the zeal of the people. For all we know we are at the beginning of a long war. Why has Lord Stirling been made a Brigadier General, while McDougall is longer in the field officer grades than he - is it to compensate Jersey for the troops they have raised? He points out the inequities of not promoting in accordance with first date of commission. Pleas e bring it before Congress, but do not state his name, but rather the general proposition. He will continue to serve in whatever way he may serve his country.
